Une ligne rurale plutôt tranquille, en bonne partie à voie unique, entre Montluçon
et Bourges, puis (depuis l'arrière du train et non la cabine de conduite) une ligne
plus importante et bien mieux équipée (électrification, vitesse limite 160 km/h,
signalisation munie d'IPCS - Installations Permanentes de Contre-Sens). Le train
Colas-Rail vu à Bourges est un retour à vide d'Issoire (au sud de Clermont-Ferrand)
à Thédirac-Peyrilles (une carrière située au nord de Cahors) : un détour considérable
pour cause d'itinéraires plus courts soit trop pentus, soit inaptes aux locomotives
G 1206 du fait de l'état de la voie.

A rather quiet rural line, mostly single-track, between Montluçon and Bourges,
and then (from the rear of the train, not the driver's cab), a more important
and much better equipped line (electrification, MPS 160 kph, signalling equipped
for wrong line running). The Colas-Rail train seen in Bourges runs empty from
Issoire (south of Clermont-Ferrand) to Thédirac-Peyrilles (a quarry located north
of Cahors) : a very long diversion due to alternative routes being either plagued
by severe gradients or not passed for G 1206 locos because of poor track condition.
